My Little Corner

My Education…

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to become a teacher. After graduating high school in 2011, I headed to the University of Tennessee at Knox12107180_10154109035392387_3865286470741839171_nville to pursue my degree in education. After first entering UT as an elementary education major, I was introduced to the Early Childhood Education program. I quickly found working with young children to be my passion and focused all my attention into research, observations, documentation and time in the classroom. I finished my degree at UT in the Early Childhood Education program, concentrating my efforts to learn as much as I could about their Reggio-inspired approach before graduating. Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, specifically focusing on a program with a Reggio background.

My Family…

After graduating college, I went on to marry the sweetest guy–my husband, Daniel. Not long after, God blessed us with a baby boy, Hassell (who is now almost a year old). He is absolutely the most curious, sweetest, biggest blessing of a little boy! We also have two fur babies in our home: Sutton (a miniature dachshund) and Willow (a golden retriever).

Other Interests…

While at UT, I was a majorette with the Pride of the Southland Marching Band, earning the title of Head Majorette my final two years. I love to teach baton and have my own program for girls 3+, “Maggie’s Majorettes”.

I also run my own work from home business with Perfectly Posh. It is so important to me to buy from a company I trust and to purchase products with ingredients I feel good about. Perfectly Posh has allowed me this opportunity. Interested in our products or becoming a consultant yourself? I’d love to chat with you!

My Purpose For This Blog…

Being a mama has challenged me, forced me to look closely at some of my former views on parenting, and renewed my passion for early childhood education. I strive to have the very best environment for Hassell in our home, but I now recognize every day occurrences that most parents face. Through this blog, I hope to provide easy-to-follow ideas, my own research, and insight I find helpful for other mothers/fathers. Sprinkled throughout will be a few product reviews and pampering tips because let’s be real…we all need some pampering/relaxation time!

It is my hope that this blog will serve as a communication tool between my family and yours, as well as other early childhood educators. I would love to hear your ideas and feedback! Please contact me at any time.

With Love,

Maggie Ricketts
